Baci Ceremony

The Baci Ceremony, one of the most prominent customs of Lao people, can help explorers delve deeper into Laotian culture as well as experience the hospitality of this peaceful country.

This simple but meaningful ceremony is performed by an elder who chants blessings while tying pieces of white threads around a participant’s wrists; these white threads are believed to bless and bring participants good luck in important occasions such as joining in marriage or giving birth.

With ASIA DMC, travellers can visit a local house and enjoy a blessing through a Baci Ceremony, as well as savor a delicious dinner hosted by the local family to get to know more about Laotian culture and customs—it is among the things you should not miss in Luang Prabang.
