See the sparkling activities of the local market in Vietnam (Ben Thanh Market in HCM city), and learn how to identify the different Vietnamese herbs, fruits and vegetables.

You'll also be taught how to combine spices, cook perfect rice and sticky rice. The cooking class is an ideal place where you can learn Vietnamese dining etiquette, followed by the chance to brush up on your chopstick skills.

As an important commercial port that flourished in the 17th and 18th century, Hoi An was at the crossroads for trade that spanned Asia and Europe. This small town is impacted by Chinese and Japanese merchants who were allowed to settle and open businesses, bringing with them their own customs and food.  Already in its 18th year, Ms. Vy’s cooking class is listed in many of the major guidebooks as a fun and interesting half day, learning about Vietnamese food and the Hoi An way of life.

The class began with a tour of Hoi An’s Central Market. If you are ever in Hoi An, you will stumble across the Central Market. You’ll be escorted by an English speaking guide then come back to watch live cooking demonstrations with actual involvement and many food tastings. Two hour hands-on cooking class, lunch, secret recipes, a Vietnamese cooking utensil and an amazing experience to take home.
