Sustainable Tourism

Since it was established, ASIA DMC is committed to operating a business model that is recognized to be socially and environmentally responsible. Therefore, we are committed to following, implementing, and promoting good sustainability practices, especially through our HG Foundation. In this month's newsletter, we are going to celebrate ASIA DMC’s 20th year anniversary and showcase our newly acquired Travelife Partner Status with exclusive interviews with Travelife’s General Manager and ASIA DMC’s Group Managing Director. Furthermore, we will embark on a rustic yet intriguing journey from the colonial history of Myanmar to the remote jungles of Laos to discover the variety of Southeast Asia.

Coinciding with the anniversary celebration, ASIA DMC was awarded Partner status with global sustainable accreditation leader, Travelife. On this special occasion, we interviewed Mr. Naut Kusters, Travelife’s General Manager and Mr. Linh Le, ASIA DMC’s Group Managing Director about the meaning of Travelife partnership status towards tourism organizations.

Enjoy a few quiet moments in The Strand Café before meeting the man at the helm, Mr. Olivier Trinquand, Vice President of The Strand Hotel and Cruise in Yangon, Myanmar, who has agreed to share his thoughts and ideas about this century-old landmark.

Join in our "Gibbon experience" to fulfill the childhood fantasy of living like the Swiss Family Robinson—staying in a tree house and exploring the remote beauty of Huay Xai, Laos, whilst zip-lining through the jungle and waking up surrounded by gibbons.

Highly praised as one of Southeast Asia’s leading luxury hotels, the iconic The Strand Yangon has been an awe-inspiring colonial landmark of the city from 1901. Since that time, The Strand has become the social epicenter of Yangon for locals and international travelers, and declared ‘the finest hostelry East of Suez’ by John Murray in his Handbook for Travellers written in the early 20th century.
