On Anawratha Road between 9th and 14th Street, you will find the best local breakfast in town. A little further down on 19th street in Chinatown you can delight your senses with the infamous Myanmar Chinese barbeque whilst enjoying a glass of locally brewed beer. It is a great area to explore if you are in to food and culture.

Shan-style ‘tofu’ noodles

Every evening, the main street of Maha Bundala comes alive with countless fruit stalls, day and night, selling all sorts of local, exotic fruits; durian, rambutan or whatever’s in season. The area offers a huge choice of street-food ranging from delicious shan noodles and fried foods to insects and cooked innards. 

Deep Fried Food

The Yangon street food night market along Strand Road (from Kyauktada to Lanmadaw Township), opening from 3PM – 11PM, offers traditional street-side snacks, drinks and desserts. With more than 1.500 vendors, it’s the biggest night market in Yangon where you can get up close and personal with the friendly workers who flock here after work,
