ASIA DMC Attends International Travel Trade Shows in January

Award-winning destination management company, ASIA DMC, will attend ATF Chiang mai and FITUR Madrid in January 2018.

FITUR 2018

FITUR, the international tourism trade fair, will return to Madrid from 17-21 January 2018.

This edition, being held at the IFEMA conference centre, will mark the 38th annual staging of the event, which is designed to be a "global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero-American markets".

In 2017, FITUR achieved new attendance records with a total of 9,893 exhibiting companies from 165 countries/regions, 135,858 trade participants and 107,213 members of the public. The number of international trade visitors increased 18.8% compared to the previous year, and the number of business appointments held increased to 6,800.

A total of 7,452 members of the media also attended FITUR 2017, which shows the importance of the event on the international trade show circuit.

ATF 2018

The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2018 will be held in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, from 22-26 January 2018.

Designed as a travel trade show for the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, this event is rotated annually between the 10 ASEAN member states. This year it’s Thailand’s turn to stage the event and the northern cultural city of Chiang Mai has been selected as the host city. The venue for the event will be the Chiang Mai International Exhibition & Convention Centre (CMECC).

As well as the trade show itself, which includes pre-arranged buyer-seller meetings, ATF includes a series of high-level events, including a meeting of ASEAN tourism ministers, a meeting of the ASEAN national tourism organisations, airline meetings, press briefings and a tourism conference.
