ASIA DMC just back from ITB Berlin 2016

ASIA DMC has just come back from Germany after attending the ITB Berlin, the world’s largest tourism trade exhibition. This year’s highlight was:

1. The opening of our new destinations, Thailand and Myanmar.

Travel industry veterans and destination specialists Andre van der Marck and Mika Itävaara have come together to establish new offices in Thailand and Myanmar under HG Travel, adding to the existing offices in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

ASIA DMC Thailand, lead by managing director Andre van der Marck, formerly vice president of Khiri Travel, is expected to start operations in April 2016, and will initially boast a team of five in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

The managing director of ASIA DMC Myanmar, Mika Itävaara, leads the expansion into the Myanmar market with the merging of former HG Travel’s Myanmar office established in 2013 and Discovery DMC, a boutique tour company in which he was the owner and CEO. The new Yangon-based office began operations late last year with 13 staff members.

2. New German Market Department established with the appointment of Mr. Tran Nam Trung as German Market Mana

ASIA DMC's new German Market department was established last January under the direction of Mr. Tran Nam Trung, an expert with nearly 15 years of experience in hospitality, previously working for large tour operators like Buffalo Tours and Asian Trails. Undertaking the new position, with vast knowledge and proficient German skills, Mr. Trung and his team are believed to be a big support to the expansion and development in the German speaking market of ASIA DMC.

3. New Seat in Coach tours developed for the German Market

During the ITB Berlin 2016, ASIA DMC also presented to the public our new Asia SIC (Seat In Coach) tours. These tours not only highlight the best features of Asia with carefully selected itineraries, but also offer flexible trips that suit both small and big groups of travellers at any age. From the famous iconic cities such as old quarter in Hanoi, Halong Bay, Angkor Wat and the Royal Palace, to the less visited and touristic places, the Asia SIC can bring something new and intriguing to everyone.
