Slow Life of Mae Chaem

On the other side of Doi Inthanon Mountain (the highest peak of Thailand) there is a beautiful and peaceful village called “Baan Pa Bong Peang”, located in Mae Chaem district, Chiang Mai. This location is unique for its inhabitants and how they live their daily lives.

In Baan Pa Bong Peang, eight families of the Karen ethnic group reside. The Karen people believe that living a simple life is the way to attain eternal happiness, and they carry out their beliefs by living with little frills and no electricity.

The main occupation in the village is rice cultivation, which is central to Thai society as it has always been a staple food through time. As you can imagine, the village is picturesque in its quaintness and scenery of beautiful, surrounding green pastures of rice.

This 2 day tour will allow you to visit spectacular waterfalls, hot springs, hill tribe markets, a traditional Thai meal, and homestay with the Karen people.
