Thailand to Ban Alcohol Sales on Election Days

The Election Commission (EC) of Thailand has confirmed 24-hour alcohol bans (from 6 pm Saturday until 6 pm Sunday) this weekend for advance voting and next weekend in preparation for the kingdom’s general election.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) claimed that there will be no affect whatsoever on the people travelling into Thailand as tourist attractions will still open as usual, however, visitors will find bars closed for the weekend, although restaurants will remain open minus the booze option.

Meanwhile, parties and events that have already been scheduled may still go on - without alcohol.
