The Strand Yangon - ‘The finest hostelry East of Suez’

Highly praised as one of Southeast Asia’s leading luxury hotels, the iconic Strand Yangon has been an awe-inspiring colonial landmark of the city from 1901. Since that time, The Strand has become the social epicenter of Yangon for locals and international travelers, and declared ‘the finest hostelry East of Suez’ by John Murray in his Handbook for Travellers written in the early 20th century.

Located on Strand Road, in the heart of downtown Yangon, near the Yangon River and the main commercial and diplomatic districts; churches, mosques, pagodas, amazing architecture and a vivid street culture are all on the doorstep of The Strand Hotel.

The hotel completed a full refurbishment in November 2016, with all 31 suites redecorated in keeping with The Strand’s legendary style and timeless elegance - as well as upgrading staff training to ensure flawless personalized service which lives up to this grand and glamorous setting. From 15 November 2017, the pool will be available, providing a perfect place for a relaxing day by the pool away from the bustle of life.
