New Routes Connect Key Destinations in South East Asia

New Routes to be operated to connect Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Bagan.

Vietjet Launches Direct Ho Chi Minh City–Phnom Penh Flights

Vietjet has started flying direct between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, the largest cities in Vietnam and Cambodia respectively. The new route commenced on 24th November 2017 with promotional fares starting from US$8.80 excluding taxes and fees.

The new daily service has a flight time of just 45 minutes each way. The outbound flight departs Ho Chi Minh City at 17:35 and arrives in Phnom Penh at 18:20. The return flight then takes off from Phnom Penh at 19:30 and arrives back in Ho Chi Minh City at 20:15.

Direct Flights Between Siem Reap and Bagan?

The cultural centres of Cambodia and Myanmar could soon be linked, after Myanmar National Airlines applied for permission to operate a direct flight between Siem Reap and Bagan.

The move forms part of bilateral efforts to increase the flow of tourists between two of South East Asia’s most sought-after heritage sites and promote them as a single tourism destination. Cambodia and Myanmar recently signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect, as part of the “Two Countries, One Destination” campaign.

Earlier this year, Emirates launched a new daily flight between Phnom Penh and Yangon, the largest cities in Cambodia and Myanmar.
