Dong Lac Communal House reopens to tourists

The Dong Lac Communal House in Hanoi, which features traditional cultural values, has recently been reopened to tourists after restoration.

Located at 38 Hang Dao Street, the house worships the gods of Cao Son, Linh Lang, and Bach Ma.The house has been severely damaged over time. In 1941 it was rebuilt for residential and retail and in 1956 was used as a convenience store.

In 2000, Hanoi authorities worked with the French city of Toulouse to restore the communal house. In 2004 it was recognised as a national heritage site by the Ministry of Culture and Information, to introduce traditional building techniques combined with modern restoration techniques
