Six New Countries Eligible For Vietnamese E-Visas

Vietnam has extended its e-visa application scheme to visitors from six more countries.

Citizens of Australia, India, Canada, New Zealand, the Netherlands and UAE are the latest to be offered the e-visa service, increasing the total list to 46 countries. Other nations eligible for e-visas include China, Japan, South Korea, the US, UK and Germany - all major source markets for Vietnam’s tourism sector.

Under the program, which first launched in February 2017, eligible travellers are able to apply online for a 30-day, single-entry e-visa by paying a non-refundable application fee online. It takes three working days for applications to be approved.

Visitors with e-visas can touch down at any of Vietnam’s eight international airports, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Danang. They can also arrive overland at 13 international border gates and by sea at seven ports across the country.

The e-visa program is one of a series of measures being taken by the Vietnamese government to boost tourism in the country.
