The Royal Cremation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is scheduled from 25^th to 29^th  October 2017. Thursday, 26^th  October, will be the royal cremation day, and it has been declared a National Holiday to allow the people to pay a final tribute to His Majesty the late King.

The Royal Palace will, therefore, be closed for most of October in preparation for these great dates, from 30^th  September until 29^th  October 2017.

Visitors at this time are respectfully reminded that on this occasion it will be a time of great sadness for the whole nation. The Tourism Authority of Thailand recommends that visitors act and dress in a respectful manner during this period – not just in Bangkok, but throughout the whole Kingdom.

Please note that these disruptions might also affect tours in the vicinity of the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple, including the visit of the Wat Po and Wat Arun. Banks and some other government related services will be closed on Oct 26 as well.

The Royal Household Bureau announced that both venues will be reopened to visitors on October 30th.
