Legends said that Keng Tung, meaning “Walled City of Tung” was formed around a lake, which is currently called Naung Tung (or Nong Tung, Nong Tong) Lake. Nowadays, this lake becomes one of the two most noticeable pulls of Keng Tung town. The other is One Tree Hill which is a very nice place for sundowner.  See the monks and their rites at Sunn Taung Monastery would be a very interesting experience for those who want to have a deep look into the local culture. In addition, central market, traditional lacquer ware works and a weaving factory are also the notable attraction for travelers to experience.
