New Luxury Resort to Open in Mergui Archipelago

The Awei Pila is a new 26-room ‘eco-chic luxury beachfront resort' scheduled to open in the fall of 2018.

The resort is located on a secluded bay beach surrounded by virgin forest and stunning views of the Andaman Sea at the Pila island in the Mergui Archipelago, Southern Myanmar. The natural bay embraces a 600m long beach front and beyond it, a highly forested area ensures protection from the elements and creates a further sense of seclusion.

Two types of guest rooms will be available with either sea views or views of the primal forests surrounding the property. All room interiors are designed to maximize natural lighting and offer the best views of the surroundings using large floor to ceiling openings and windows. Locally sourced furniture and decoration further enhances the character of the rooms. Facilities at the Awei Pila include an onsite restaurant, bar and swimming pool. Activities available in and around the property include diving, snorkelling, kayaking, hiking, cooking classes, fishing and visiting traditional Moken villages.

To reach Awei Pila, guests can travel to the port town of Kawthaung (flights from Yangon and Bangkok), gateway to the Mergui Archipelago and transfer to the resort by sailing boat.
