Thai Smile to resume Bangkok - Luang Prabang Flights

Starting from 1st October this year, Thai Smile, the low-cost subsidiary of Thai Airways International, will re-open direct flights from Bangkok to Luang Prabang, after temporarily ceasing operations.

Thai Airways International initially launched flights to Luang Prabang back in 2014, but had to scrap them last year for undisclosed reasons. On 21st August 2017, Thai Smile announced that it will commence the route again, connecting Thai capital and Luang Prabang. It will serve the route using Airbus A320 planes with four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Besides Thai AirAsia and Bangkok Airways operating direct flights between two cities, the return of Thai Smile will significantly contribute to the development of tourism industry between Thailand and Laos.
